CDS’s 5th Annual Coins for Change Fundraiser – September 7, 2018
The CDS’s 5th annual Coins for Change fundraiser will be on September 7th, 2018. This event is a fundraiser for our Getting to Home program: Addressing Homelessness in Greater Trail.
Trail Youth Centre – Beautification & Clean-up
Individuals from the Trail Youth Centre volunteered their time to clean up and beautify the gardens outside of the Youth centre.
A Mother of Two
A 43-year old mother of two has finally received safe housing with the support of CDS. She describes her house as her “home,” her “sanctuary.”
Stewart
Stewart was a great janitor; he loved the work and was good at it. He took pride in making sure he showed up on time and cleaned everything on his task list. He could not however set the alarm when he left the building since he couldn’t remember the code or what buttons to press.
Rick
Rick had no problem finding work; he was dynamic personable and interviewed well. However, he never lasted more than two weeks on a job site.
Rosie
Rosie was a master potter who had not been able to work her art since she was a young woman. Suffering with depression for years, Rosie moved all over the country trying to escape her world. One day she wandered into Trail and decided to stay.
