La Nina Shelter
BC Housing and the City of Trail worked together to build a 25-bed shelter at 2039 Riverside Avenue.
The La Nina shelter opened in September 2024 which replaced the previous shelter at 1456 Bay Avenue as it was not suitable for longer-term use. This shelter provides much needed supports and services for people experiencing or are nearly in a homelessness situation in our community..
This building offers more indoor communal space for programs, an outdoor common area and more storage capacity than the previous one. This shelter is purpose-built which also offers more safety and security features for the benefit of the shelter guests as well as our surrounding community.
